  • At his wedding, Shikhar Dhavan wore a cream Sherwani and his wife, Aesha Mukherjee wore an embroidered bridal golden and dark pink “Ghagra Choli“.

  • At his wedding, Shikhar Dhawan wore a red “Pagri” (Turban) and a “Shera” (veil of flowers or beads). Shikar Dhawan reached the Gurudwara on a horse. Cricketers, Virat Kholi, Rahul Sharma and Delhi Ranji team mates danced in Dhawan’s “Baraat” (marriage procession). Aesha Mukherji wore bridal “Chuda” (customary North Indian red and cream bangles) and “Mehendi” on both hands. Marriage customs followed at Shikar and Ayesha’s wedding included  “Milni” (introduction of relatives), “Varmala” (putting garlands around each other’s neck), “Kanyadhan” (bride’s father gives her hand in her husband’s), “Saat Phere” (Seven rounds around the holy fire) and “Bidaai” (farewell for the bride).
  • This is Shikhar Dhawan’s wife’s second marriage. Ayesha has two girls, age 8 and 12 (Aliyah and Rhea), from her first wedding.
  • Ayesha Mukherjee is around 12 years older than her husband, Shikhar Dhawan. One of India’s greatest batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar, is married to Dr Anjali Tendulkar, who is 5.6 years elder to him.

How Did Shikhar Dhavan and Ayesha Mukherjee Fall In Love

  • Cricketer Harbhajan Singh was “Friends” on Facebook with both Ayesha Mukherjee and Shikhar Dhawan. Harbhajan introduced both of them.
  • Shikher thought Ayesha’s photo on Facebook were beautiful. Shikhar requested Aesha to become his friend on Facebbok. Ayesha accepted his request and this was the start of their friendship.
  • Through 2011, Shikar and Ayesha got to know each other well and love blossomed between them. Whenever possible, Ayesha would attend Shikher Dhawan’s Ranji trophy and IPL matches.
